Unless you have your own server that’s online 24/7, you will need someone else’s if you want your website seen by the world that’s strictly yours. I mean, you have your own domain, your own address, that will never be another’s as long as you maintain it every year.

Why Internet Shopping Is Getting Popular

July 18, 2010

Before the internet existed, all we know when buying stuff, is we go to the local stores around us or travel the distance if we think we can only get what we wanted or needed in that place.

We used to say to let our fingers do the walking…which means to use the directory and call the shops before actually going to that place, to save time.

Go For Gold!

June 25, 2010

by Cecile Cinco

Sometime in between 1990 and 1992, I was able to tour our Central Bank (Philippines). Together with a tourist from Denmark, a roommate, and another friend, we were guided by a family friend who worked there at that time.

It was very educational and fun. We were able to see the factory from the top view. Hung on the wall are series of paper money from old ones to defective ones, many uncut.

The last that we saw during the tour is the big bullion that our eyes can only hold. It was the first gold bullion that I saw in my entire life, for real…not just in movies.

Baseball

June 4, 2010

by Cecile Cinco

When I was a teen, I was taught to play softball, a direct descendant of baseball. The ball is larger, field is smaller, and the throw is underhand. The rules are roughly the same.

During my learning days (literally) at camp during that year (I forgot when! It was long ago!), we were not to allowed to complain, otherwise, we lose points. That’s the basic rule for the whole 2 weeks.

(Sadly, one camper was hit by the ball and a few years later, she had to be operated on her spleen. Sadder than that, during the obstacle course, while a team of was carrying a log about 2 meters long, someone slipped and was pressed over by the log. A few months later, she died.)

I was never able to play baseball, though I wanted to. I enjoyed watching the movie A League Of Their Own, women playing baseball while the men went off to war. I can see myself in Dottie Hinson’s (Geena Davis’) shoes but I doubt it’s ever going to be a reality.

Anyway, baseball is America’s favorite, especially the major league. Want tickets? You can buy them online! Whether you’re for Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, or any team for that matter, getting a ticket online is a breeze. :)

Healthy Lifestyle

October 11, 2009

In this day and age when almost everything is instant, don’t you miss the time when you could play on the field instead of just using your keyboard? Don’t you miss writing letters, developing your cursive style, drawing smileys of different sorts and sizes, with hearts all around and even using stationery paper with fragrance? Don’t you miss climbing up a tree, resting atop or picking fruits to eat fresh?

Stranded But Safe

We’re currently here in Baguio City since Oct. 2, for the Feast of Tabernacles, which ended yesterday. The first day and the 8th day was sunny but those days in between were typhooned with lots of rain and gusty wind. For the first in my life I’ve seen a typhoon landing 3 times. Although Baguio City is on top of the mountain, places below are flooded like Pangasinan and nearby areas.

Site Overhaul; New Look

July 27, 2009

I know it’s been a looooooong time since I posted. Actually, I meant to leave this as is as my space is running very low. Then again, it is my first blog. It has been in existence since 2007. I might as well keep it and update it.

So, now, I’m doing an overhaul. It may take some time but I’ll do it nevertheless. I’ve also changed the look of it for some eye refreshing treat.

Shopping For Girls Is Fun!

April 8, 2009

Many of you know that I got 3 girls and no boy. Not that I’m in want for a boy. Not at all. Kids are enough regardless of gender. But it’s always a challenge and it’s fun to buy for girls. Girls get cuter. Girls equal fashion. The reason, I think, some boys would like to be girls is because of the fashion they would like to control and play with! :D

What You Can Do With The Expensive Roses You Get On Valentines Day Other Than Let Them Wither In Your Vase

February 11, 2009

Come Saturday, February 14, is Valentine’s Day. Whether you celebrate it or not, it is as sure as the sunrise that roses sold on that day will be twice, thrice or four times expensive that they are now.

This morning I watched a rose recipe demonstrated on TV. Quite appealing.

Other than just let them wither, there are several things you can do with rose petals or rose hips. If I knew about this at the time I was doing flower arrangements regularly, I could have made use of those petals other than just enjoy the smell.

I’m not going to repeat them but let me just invite you to go see for yourself what else you can do with those rose petals, rose hips and rose leaves. You can actually eat them! :)

He Said, When You Reach 40, It’s Sure To Come

December 16, 2008

I recall more than a year ago when I had daily headaches and dizziness. Much to my disagreement (because I just don’t want going to doctors unless it’s very, very serious) but did just the same to my mom’s request (respecting commandment #5 of honoring parents, and if i don’t, something bad usually happens).
